Finding inner peace

I have worked real hard on this subject.
I tried ignoring the storm that raged inside of me. I tried to work it away. I tried to hide it back, way back in my brains archive. But the only way is to confront whatever may haunt you.
Im still not sure about my ghosts... maybe its just echoes of what might had been.

Anyway, there are several of "things" that has helped...
I dont believe in drinks and drugs, so that has never been an option.
But thoughts, very wise thoughts of men and women from all around the world has made a difference to me.

The comfort of Dalai Lamas words finally made me sleep well at nights.
Thinking about how simple life can be, as long as we dont make it difficult for ourselves, made me realise im my own worst enemy.

"I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace."

Hi Karina,
I always have had a fondness for Dalai Lama's writings. I'm glad you're back to writing again, you've been greatly missed. *hugs*
